From Markdown report to PDF
Structure decides how readable the final PDF is: use nested headings for sections and subsections so readers get a proper outline, and pipe tables for any figures or comparisons.
Paste the Markdown into the converter and review the preview — table borders, code blocks and heading spacing all render the way they will print.
Save as PDF from the print dialog. Headings stay with the paragraph that follows them, and tables and code blocks are kept off split pages, so the document reads cleanly.
Print-ready without a publishing toolchain
You do not need LaTeX, a headless browser or a build pipeline to get a professional PDF: the page applies an A4 print stylesheet and your browser's own engine does the rendering.
Because the output is text, the report stays searchable and reviewers can quote or annotate it — content that would otherwise be trapped inside a screenshot.
Wide tables look best in landscape or with smaller margins, both of which are a single setting in the print dialog.
Report to PDF FAQ
+Are tables and figures preserved?
Markdown pipe tables become bordered tables and stay on one page, and code blocks stay monospaced. Chart images referenced by absolute URL usually appear, while relative local paths may be missing.
+Do I get an outline or bookmarks?
In most PDF readers, headings become outline entries you can jump between — which is exactly why structured Markdown pays off in a long report.
+Is my report uploaded to a server?
No. Pandoc runs as WebAssembly in your browser and the print step is local; no data leaves your device.
+Can I publish the report as a web page instead?
Yes — use the Markdown to HTML converter for clean semantic HTML, or keep both outputs from the same source file.
